How I Finally Started Growing My Hair Back
If you've been following my scalp psoriasis journey, you know one of the hardest parts wasn't actually the psoriasis itself.
It was watching my hair slowly become thinner.
At first, I blamed stress.
Then I blamed my shampoo.
Then I blamed myself.
But over time, I realized that several things were happening at once.
Living with scalp psoriasis meant my scalp was constantly inflamed during flare-ups, and on top of that, I was also going through hormonal changes that naturally affect hair density.
The combination left me with noticeably thinner hair, especially around my hairline.
It was discouraging.
There were days when I avoided pulling my hair back because all I could see were the areas where my hair had become so much thinner.
My Before & After
These photos were taken several months apart. While everyone's hair journey is different, they show my personal progress after consistently caring for my scalp and supporting healthy hair growth.
When I look back at these photos, I'm reminded that progress doesn't happen overnight.
It took patience.
It took consistency.
And it took finding products that truly worked for me.
No single product gave me these results.
Instead, it was the combination of a healthy scalp, consistency, and three products that became part of my routine.
Product #1: Camel Glow Hair Oil
For almost two years, I watched videos about Camel Glow Hair Oil on Instagram.
I kept telling myself I'd buy it "one day."
Late in 2024, I finally decided to give it a try.
I'm so glad I did.
Today, oiling my scalp has become one of my favorite self-care routines.
Twice a week, at minimum once, I gently massage my scalp for about five minutes before applying a light layer of Camel Glow Hair Oil.
A little goes a long way.
I leave it on for at least three hours before washing my scalp thoroughly.
Over time, this routine has helped me stay consistent while giving my scalp a chance to relax and feel nourished.
Product #2: Nutrafol
Nutrafol - Women Ages 18-44
Visibly thicker volume, less shedding, and hair that grows faster, stronger, and longer.
While I wanted to care for my scalp externally, I also wanted to support healthier hair from within.
That's what led me to Nutrafol.
After researching numerous supplements, this was the one I decided to try.
I started taking Nutrafol earlier this year, and it has become part of my daily routine.
Personally, I've noticed stronger-feeling hair, less shedding, and continued progress in my overall hair health.
I currently take Nutrafol Women (Ages 18–44), but I'll also include links for:
so you can find the version that's right for you.
Product #3: NuDerma High Frequency Wand
NuDerma Skin Therapy Wand
I added the NuDerma High Frequency Wand to my routine because I wanted to do everything I could to keep my scalp healthy. Since scalp health plays such an important role in healthy hair, I liked the idea of gently stimulating my scalp before applying my hair oil. While results vary from person to person, I enjoy making it part of my routine, and it gives me confidence that I'm taking another step toward supporting healthy hair.
Another tool I've incorporated into my routine is my NuDerma High Frequency Wand.
After massaging my scalp, I spend a few minutes using the wand before applying my Camel Glow Hair Oil.
It's become another relaxing part of my routine and something I genuinely enjoy doing.
While everyone's experience may be different, I like knowing I'm taking a little extra time to care for my scalp before applying my oil.
What I've Learned
One of the biggest lessons this journey has taught me is that healthy hair doesn't come from chasing a miracle product.
It comes from consistency.
It comes from taking care of your scalp.
It comes from supporting your body.
And it comes from finding products that fit your routine and that you'll actually enjoy using week after week.
For me, these three products became part of that routine.
They're not magic.
But they've become tools that have helped me feel more confident every time I look in the mirror.
Want to See Everything I Use?
These are only three of the products that have made a difference in my hair care journey.
On my Resources page, you'll find the products I personally use and recommend, along with products that have been recommended by my family and close friends.
I also share my latest hair care discoveries, beauty favorites, and honest product reviews on Pinterest, where I curate every recommendation myself.
If a product is linked there, it's because I use it, have tested it, or truly believe it's worth sharing.
I don't recommend products simply because they're popular, I recommend them because they've earned a place in my own routine.
I hope my journey encourages you to keep going.
Hair regrowth takes time, but with patience, consistency, and the right routine, progress is possible.
Thank you for following along with my journey.
Silvia
