Scalp Psoriasis and Hair Loss: Will My Hair Grow Back?

One of the hardest parts of living with scalp psoriasis wasn't the itching.

It wasn't even the flakes.

It was watching my hair fall out.

There were days when I'd brush my hair and notice more strands than usual tangled in the brush.

Other times, I'd wash my hair and see what felt like handfuls of hair going down the drain.

Every time it happened, I asked myself the same question.

"Is my hair ever going to grow back?"

It was scary.

Hair is such a big part of how many of us see ourselves, especially as women. Losing it, even temporarily, can affect your confidence and make you wonder if things will ever get back to normal.

I remember feeling discouraged every time I noticed my hair looking thinner than it used to.

Fortunately, my dermatologist helped ease some of those fears.

One of the most reassuring things I learned is that, for many people, the hair loss associated with scalp psoriasis is temporary. The inflammation caused by psoriasis, frequent scratching, and the natural shedding that can happen during flare-ups may all contribute to hair loss. Once the inflammation is under control and the scalp begins to heal, hair often starts growing back. Every person's experience is different, so it's important to work with a dermatologist to understand what's causing your hair loss and what treatment options are right for you.

Hearing that gave me hope.

It also reminded me that taking care of my scalp wasn't just about reducing flakes or itching.

It was about creating the healthiest environment possible for my hair to grow.

Because I was so worried about losing my hair, I became determined to learn everything I could about healthy hair growth.

I spent hours researching, reading articles, watching videos, and following women who openly shared their own hair growth journeys.

One product, in particular, kept showing up.

For nearly two years, I followed Camel Glow on Instagram.

I watched their videos, read customer reviews, and saw incredible before-and-after transformations.

I was interested, but I kept telling myself, "Maybe later."

Finally, I decided to stop wondering and give it a try.

Today, Camel Glow Hair Growth Oil has become one of the products I consistently use as part of my scalp care routine.

What I appreciate most is that it has become more than simply applying an oil. It's become dedicated time to care for myself.

Here's the routine I personally follow.

Step 1: I begin by gently massaging my scalp for about five minutes.

Step 2: I use my NuDerma Clinical Skin Therapy Wand device on my scalp.

Step 3: I apply a very thin layer of Camel Glow Hair Growth Oil throughout my scalp. A little goes a long way, so I don't use very much.

Step 4: I leave the oil on for a minimum of three hours before washing it out.

Step 5: I shampoo my scalp twice to remove the oil completely.

I try to follow this routine twice each week, although there are weeks when life gets busy and I only manage once.

Consistency has made all the difference for me.

I can't say that one product alone transformed my hair.

For me, healthier hair has come from managing my scalp psoriasis, staying consistent with my scalp care routine, reducing inflammation, and incorporating products that I genuinely enjoy using.

Camel Glow Hair Growth Oil has become one of those products.

Because I've had such a positive experience with it, I've partnered with Camel Glow to share an exclusive 10% discount on all products. Click here to automatically receive the discount. If you're currently watching your hair thin because of scalp psoriasis, I understand how emotional it can be.

I've been there.

Don't lose hope.

Sometimes progress happens slowly.

Sometimes it takes patience.

But every healthy habit you build today is an investment in your future hair and scalp health.

In my next blog, I'll share another important part of my journey, how I care for and style my hair while living with scalp psoriasis, including the products and techniques that help me protect my hair every day.
